Honey Schnapp
Honey Schnapp has been an early childhood educator for more than 30 years. She has a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development from Wheelock College and Massachusetts certification in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. For 12 years she worked as the Education Director for a childcare program. Since 1998, she has worked as a consultant, providing training and support to educators and parents on a variety of early childhood topics, both privately and through grants from the Department of Early Education & Care. She co-authored two training manuals for supporting best practices in early childhood programs, served as a validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Accreditation process and on the board of Boston AEYC. She taught Early Childhood Curriculum at Wheelock College and currently teaches at Simmons College.
Michelle Laskey
Michelle Laskey has been working in the field of Early Education and Care for 25 years. Her educational background focused on early childhood education and psychology, with an Associate Degree from Wheelock College. For 10 years she worked as a teacher of young children for a childcare program. Michelle served on the National Coalition for Educational and Cultural Programs Board of Directors. Since 1996, she has provided consultation to early childhood programs and supported educators through distance-learning projects. She co-authored two training manuals for supporting best practices in early childhood programs. Michelle continues to provide trainings to families, teachers and caregivers and is currently working for the Somerville Family and Community Connections coordinating the playgroup program for children and their families.
